Podcast: Angouleme Festival (FIBD) 2015 with Georgia Webber and Breakdown Press

Updated: Jan 11

After being postponed earlier in the year due to ongoing concerns over the spread of coronavirus, the 49th instalment of the Festival International de la Bande Dessinée is back on this week! So before I return to one of my favourite places and events, I wanted to continue share one more bit of coverage from previous years.

In this look back at Angoulême 2015, I present my interviews with cartoonist Georgia Webber (which was recorded at Orbital Comics just after the show) and Simon & Tom from Breakdown Press (which was recorded on the busy floor of Le Nouveau Monde during the event).

Please note: in the course of the discussion, we refer to our mutual friend Jul' Maroh by their former identity (as the original audio could not be changed) but it is not our intention to dwell in the past. Jul' Maroh remains one of our favourite creators and storytellers, and you can check out their ongoing work here.

These interviews were originally released on my podcast, Pop Culture Hound, which ran for almost 300 episodes (including specials) between 2011 and 2017. Sadly these aren't available online anymore, and the website/contact details mentioned are no longer relevant, but I've presented them as they were at the time. These days you can reach me via this website, and find me on social media as both @PopCultureHound and @FrancoFilesUK.
